4 I've Always Adored Noah Stars

Oh how time flies for the Mitchell family! The once little boy and pre-teen Noah Mitchell is now an adult, a womanizing and charming adult.
I have read the first 4 books in The Mitchell Family series and have loved Colt and Savanna's family, not just their own little family, but the entire Mitchell-Healy too. Reading this series is like watching an afternoon soap opera and now that Noah gets to have his own book, I was extremely excited about it. He was always such an interesting guy even as a kid. Noah Mitchell is sweet, loving, and sensitive as a young boy. As an adult, he is still those things and now so much more. He's a serious guy, maybe not when it comes to relationships and women, but he's a serious guy when it comes to family and business. He grew up in a ranch, lived and breathe ranch life but lately, he felt like he wanted to explore, do something for himself without the shadow of his family looming over his shoulder. But we knew his dad, Colt, right? From the early books until the present, Noah's dad is still as traditional as ever when it comes to family responsibilities in the business. It didn't help that Noah is the eldest and only son.
I totally felt bad for Noah. I get what he wants to do. I may not know exactly how he must have felt, but I get his feeling of wanting to spread his wings on his own for a while. See what the world have to offer outside their huge ranch life. It just sucks that he was not able to get his point across to his dad. Partially, I believe they, Noah and Colt, could have handled talked about it more calmly, there's a better, albeit small, chance of them understanding each other or at least, it could have avoided all the shouting. But nope, every emotion spilled out from both Mitchell men which resulted to Noah packing a bag and driving away.
While taking a break to decide where he's driving to, he stopped in a bar and met Shalan. The fierce bartender who after several misfortunes, ended up tagging along with Noah. Like Noah, Shalan felt trapped in the same place, wanted to do something else with her life but family gets in the way. Unlike Noah's overprotective family though, Shalan's was more... less caring.
"Being with Noah was like nothing I'd ever experienced before. It wasn't just that he was so tentative, or that his focus was always on pleasing me. It was the way he touched me, and more importantly, the way he looked at me."
Noah and Shalan getting together may not be romantic at first. It was also pretty crazy actually, Shalan ending up going with Noah after the crazy (but totally understandable) stunt she pulled when she caught her boyfriend and best friend with both their pants down. I liked how Jennifer Foor writes stories about family and with Noah, it's also about finding his own dream. The message of Noah and Shalan's story was sensible and readers can easily connect with the main characters' situations.
Noah and Shalan not only developed a friendship and deep love for each other but they also ended up realizing and going after their own dreams. That was my favorite part about this story.
Now that Noah started off the series of the next generation of Mitchell-Healy, I am looking forward to Isabella's (and the rest of the kids') book!
