It is recommended to read after Deliver, but it can be read as a stand-alone.
Her life is like a prison cell.
A self-made, to-hell-with-the-free-world existence that locks from the inside.
Stop judging. Her agoraphobia doesn’t define her. It simply keeps her safe.
He belongs in a prison cell.
The 6x8, make-me-your-bitch variety that locks from the outside.
But he’s free. To hunt. To take. To break.
And he just found a sexy new toy.
Capturing her is the easy part. Her fucked-up mind, however, makes him question everything he does next.
But he’s a determined bastard. If all goes his way, this will hurt like hell.

MY REVIEW

5 Vanquished Stars!
ARC received from the author for an honest review
"You realize, what exists in the light doesn't go away in the dark."
Hypnotic, captivating and utterly engaging -- this has always been how Pam Godwin's book are to me and Vanquish just left me speechless! There's something about Pam's way of writing a story that leaves me on the edge of my seat and hanging on to every word that I read and savor the entire experience.
Vanquish is the next book after Deliver but if you haven't and have no plans on reading it, Vanquish can also be read as a standalone. It tells the story of ex-trafficker Van and the OCD agoraphobic Amber. Like with other Pam Godwin books, I was instantly transported into another world. A world of thrilling, maddening and powerful story of love and redemption.
"He was a kidnapper, a rapist, and she ached to be repulsed by him, just to prove she was sane, but she couldn't. And she wasn't. His scarred beauty radiated seduction and danger, a deadly combination."
Van is a stubborn man. He's strong and adamant to know his daughter that he has resorted to stalking his ex-captive and the mother of his child, Liv, just to find and ease his way to his daughter's life. Reading the first parts of Van's thoughts, I felt like he was in love with Liv, how he think back on the past and remember the feelings he's had for her, it felt a bit melancholy and showed a softer side of him. But eventually, his longing for Livana (his daughter) became more evident than whatever feelings he had for Liv.
That fatherly desire also brought out a new idea in mind and came in Amber.
Oh Amber, I was conflicted between sympathizing with her and disliking her in the beginning. I do not have anyone in my life who is suffering with any phobias and disorders so I wouldn't really know how to deal with them, but this is where the author's magic happens. The way she wrote it made me feel like a part of the story and eventually cheering for Amber.
"So you have issues. Don't we all?"
Amber is superbly fucked up, and it's not just her phobia and OCD alone but what those two illnesses do to her self-esteem and lifestyle. She's imprisoned in her own dark world, no friends and family to lean on for support, no confidence in her physical beauty, she is so scared of everything that sometimes I just want to just throw her outside her door (kind of mean for me but I really wanted her to really want to overcome it). But as much as she frustrates me, my heart breaks for her and admire her at the same time. At least she's coping with it. At least she's trying to live even though she's struggling.
"Fuck him, but he wanted to be her security, her anchor, her fucking everything. Not as her captor but as her lover."
What happens when two damaged souls collide? A strong, crushing, and roaring relationship is born. Two souls that needed healing and redemption. Two souls that healed and redeemed each other. Van may be controlling but that control and stubbornness complements Amber's compulsions and brings out her own strength. Let's not forget the sex. Oh my gosh I don't care right now if I seem like a pervert but damn Van and Amber are combustible!
I'll never get tired of saying that Pam Godwin is always a must-read author for me!
Stars: 5 Stars!
Recommended to: Dark, thrilling, violent romance fan, this is for you!
POV: Third person. Dual POV.
Series: Recommended to read after Deliver but can be read as standalone.
EXTRA COMMENT: I'm stunned for words! So much feelings in this book, I'm disturbed how much I laughed at the humor in this (yes, there were funny conversations -- Van is sarcastically funny) and I LOVED IT!
He stalked toward her, mirroring the tilt of her head, knees and shoulders loose, and his gaze holding her prisoner. A breath away, he paused, soaking in the subtleties of her tipped-up chin, parting lips, and glossy but resolute eyes.
With the next breath, he launched, hands on her jaw, fingers spread around the back of her head.
His elbows dropped, shoulders raised, and he yanked her to him, lifting her on tiptoes, guiding her mouth, taking it. His grip twisted through her hair as he drew in her upper lip and shoved her against the fridge, following her with the weight of his body.
The kiss went fucking wild, their lips mashing in a frantic battle. His tongue plunged her mouth, attacking, thrusting in and out, possessing her movements, owning her. Breath for breath, lick after lick, he ate at her mouth, tasting, devouring.
He dropped his hands to her breasts, squeezing ruthlessly as he rolled his cock against her cunt.
His tongue tingled, his skin burned, and his head swam. God, she was a drug, and he was so fucking high.
She gripped his biceps, bit at his lips, and threw her arms over his shoulders, her fingers scratching the fuck out his back. He shuddered, loving it, but he was in control.
Reaching back, he grabbed her wrists and slammed them above her head. Their bodies ground together, his forearms pressing hers to the fridge, their tongues dancing and clashing. Chest-to-chest, hips fused together, he flexed his ass, dry humping her like a horny teenager.
Jesus, fuck, he didn't care. He wanted her.
He leaned back to study her face and found strong smoldering eyes, sharp breaths, and swollen wet lips. Whatever she saw in his expression made her mouth chase his and her fingers curl around his hands. They kissed endlessly, fueling the fire and pushing his control long past the point of discomfort before pulling back and starting all over again.
When he broke the kiss with a hand on her jaw, they panted as one, mouths open and so close their bottom lips brushed. She peered at him through lowered lashes, and he stared back in awe. What trembled between them wasn't an if? Or even a how hard? Those were foregone. The question they shared was simple.
