4.5 Crazy-Frustrating-Romantic Stars!!!
"Baby, nothing you do is a turnoff. You breathe and I'm turned on."

Well everyone, Jack Henry is back! Beauty from Love picks up from where Beauty from Surrender ends and started during their way to their honeymoon. Laurelyn and Jack Henry's honeymoon was sweet experience. A steamy one too, of course.
There was mostly their conversation about having a baby and starting their own family, a jealousy-strikes moment, and lots of loving.
I was starting to wonder what could possibly be the conflict/s in this part of the series when it started to slowly show its ugly head - Jack Henry's past, his former "companions" and Laurelyn's occasionally understandable insecurity and jealousy and flat-out frustration.
The handsome, thoughtful, horndog, Jack Henry McLachlan

"I love you so much, L. I don't ever want to know the pain of not having you in my life."
Always the gentleman and obviously so in love with his wife. His character's growth from typical bachelor to a committed husband was really fascinating. This is why he's on my list of book-boyfriends-who-are-high-potential-to-be-an-amazing-husband. He's not just good-looking or loving or protective, he's all of those things that made me feel like Laurelyn's really adored. I want a Jack Henry of my own, please.

The young and lovely Laurelyn Prescott McLachlan

"I love you and I'm not going anywhere. I'm here as long as you want me to."
I have this tendency to work out the characters' ages in my head, sometimes I'm okay with what's written but sometimes I make up my own and what I'm comfortable with or how I see the characters act. I almost forgot Laurelyn was more than 5 years younger than Jack Henry. I always got the feeling that she's somewhere around 25 or 26. Which is a good thing, I guess. She wasn't some whiny, confused, problematic, and broken heroine. She's strong yet emotional, insecure but confident and most importantly, very understanding of Jack Henry's past.
I somehow feel for Laurelyn when Jack's "ghosts of girlfriends past" started to show up. I also admire her for her strength and how their "problems" didn't take long for them to resolve but not making it seem hurried.

My .5 rating for this book is stuck with Jack Henry's past companions. The poor guy was like a walking unfortunate series of events. One thing (or person) keeps popping up and screwing everything up for him it's almost comical.
And that Jenna, b*tch…

Ugh!
The other supporting characters though are fun to read again. Especially Margaret. That lady is hilarious. I love her.
This book does feel like a "conclusion" and I want to feel sad and I'm happy at the same time.
And the Epilogue... I am a sucker for a good one.
