"Love requires sacrifice sometimes."

I have read some of Michelle A. Valentine's books, and it looks like Wicked Reunion just made me realize that her books are a hit or miss for me. The upside, however, is those I didn't enjoy much weren't all that bad, just... disappointing for me. Which is exactly how I felt with this book.

I haven't read the first book in this series, with me not getting interested with the synopsis and the mostly not-so-great feedback from friends, I've put it in the backburner. But when I saw Wicked Reunion, I instantly fell in love. Fell in love with the cover. Fell in love with the synopsis. I just felt like I needed this book, so much so that when my copy appeared in my Kindle, I devoured it straight away.

Usually, I am not a big fan of constantly alternating between the past and the present, I love flashbacks or Prologues in the past but when it's every other chapter, I get tired and sometimes confused. And that's what I loved about Wicked Reunion, it goes back and forth from present to past but Michelle A. Valentine was able to weave both timelines seamlessly. I actually enjoyed it. I enjoyed knowing more about London and Jared when they were younger and I loved knowing what they've become in the present. The past-present pingpong worked so well in this book that I kept holding my breath and wondering what could have happened in the past and how they would get to their HEA.

And that's when it went downhill for me...

I enjoyed it so much that when I noticed I was 70% in the book, I was surprised and worried. A lot was happening but nothing is actually happening. Does that even make sense? And then eventually, it just felt rushed. It started out sooooooooo good for me and that's why I felt disappointed with how things happened. It just didn't work out as good as the first chapters.
