Never Me
by
Kate Stewart
August 4th - 8th
Synopsis:
I was a thief of men…a whore.
Not the conventional type that got paid for sex. I was the girl you talked about in your sad inner circle. The girl you shielded your boyfriend from as you
cleverly covered him with your body when I came near.
I was a threat to you.
Keeping him safe in your grasp was smart.
One week...one incredible week was all it took to forever change me.
I was NEVER going to be you … until I met HIM.

My Review
★★★★
4 Never Never Stars!
ARC received from the author for an honest review
My first Kate Stewart book and I didn’t know what to expect. When I first read the blurb, I thought “Wow, this sounds all kinds of sexy messed up heroine” and I wanted to read more so I said yes reading and reviewing it. And it’s a good thing that I did. I have to say though, Never Me was more than just what the blurb made it out to be.
A girl who enjoys sex way too much but only the taken ones. If he does not have a girlfriend or maybe even a wife, he won’t get an invite. If he is not good-looking enough, he does not get an invite. She does not get paid for it, she simply craves for it. And this girl does not do repeats. She’s the female counterpart of a wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am night. She is Nadine.
After her latest conquest and losing her job over it, she’s back to worrying about money and paying rent and bills. Nadine swallows her pride and reaches out to her Dad who not surprisingly gave her financial help and a birthday bonus too. Now, what do you do when you’re a young single woman suddenly $6,000 richer? Pay off rent in advance and settle bills and then… what? Roadtrip! And that’s what Nadine did with her next door neighbor and best friend, Rory. 1-week of fun and relaxation seems harmless enough, right? Well, it is until a they meet a certain someone.
Carefree, smart, caring and good-looking Spencer. The exception to Nadine’s “invites”. The fun and adventure that’s been missing in her life. The “him” in her life. Also going for a mini-vacation, Spencer spends some good times with his friends when they meet Nadine and Rory. From a dip in the ocean, everyone bonded and got along so great that they spent the entire week as a group. I enjoyed reading all the craziness that this new group of friends did. It was an exciting and full of adventure trip for all of them, that was for sure.
Spencer and Nadine’s attraction was palpable throughout the story. I’m not big on insta-love where the characters are crazy for each other after a few minutes of meeting, but Kate Stewart started it off with undeniable attraction and built it from there. I don’t want to spoil anything for those who haven’t read it yet but the turn that this book had caught me by surprise. I didn’t expect for something like that to happen but it did and it added more emotions into the book. I love Spencer and his outgoing self, he’s so charming and I think he’s the perfect guy for a girl like Nadine. He didn’t judge her, he saw something good in her and he made sure that she knows it. He’s outspoken. And oh, did I mention I love him?
The friendship that they built which somehow grew deeper in that few days that they spent, felt so natural and good. It was sweet and steamy and not your typical summer fling. Spencer and Nadine, even their friends, were such lovable characters. Okay, maybe not Nadine at first, but she grew on me. It was a week worth remembering and it proved just that. That’s all I’m going to say.
Stars: 4 stars!
