Why I Joined Tsu...

What is Tsu?

Per tsu's FAQ:

tsū is a free social network and payment platform that shares up to 90% of revenues with its users. 

tsū shares social revenues that come from third party ads, sponsorships and partnerships. Once economics are created, tsū receives 10% to maintain the platform. Half of the remaining earned revenue is paid to the user who created the content. The other half of the remaining earned revenue is distributed to the user’s network Family Tree. Users on tsū monetize their content and network in perpetuity, which continues to grow alongside the community.

I received an invitation to join Tsu (pronounced Sue/Soo) from my cousin several weeks back. I ignored it after I opened it because... earning while doing the things I do on Facebook like "posting", "sharing", "commenting", etc.? It sounds too good to be true, not to mention that I don't know of anyone else who are Tsu users. These past couple of days though, I'm seeing a lot of my connections on Facebook who are joining and being active on Tsu. 

So, why did I just join Tsu?

Believe it or not, I am not on Tsu to earn money. Although that is a pleasant bonus, too. No. I joined Tsu because I want to test out the network and engagement that I might have in this new social media compared to what I currently have on my Facebook page. I want to observe how my followers, both on Facebook and Tsu, engage on my posts. Is it my crappy reach on Facebook? Is it just my followers not wanting to engage on my posts? If so, I'd also like to see which posts get people's attention more. Basically, my joining Tsu is for observation purposes and so far, I am enjoying Tsu and its layout. 

I do post, like, comment and share anyway. That few pennies I will possibly earn from doing these things are just a plus. I am not posting, liking, commenting, and sharing to earn it. Make sense?

What I expect from Tsu

With all the rave this new social media is getting, I'm hoping this doesn't turn out to be another "problem" we, bloggers, and authors have to deal with especially with reach and views. I am honestly still over the fence about this but I am always one who is open to try out new things before saying "Eh, it's not for me". So, right now, even though I'm not 101% convinced that this will last -- I am enjoying Tsu and I'm just on my 2nd day.
