REVIEW: Free Me (Found #1) - Laurelin Paige

4 I Need Find Me Now Stars
ARC received from the author for an honest review

Are you looking for something fan-yourself-hot read this cold holiday season? JC and Gwen might be the steamy couple to warm you up this season.

Free Me is book 1 of 2 in the Found Duet and a spinoff from the Fixed Trilogy -- which I loved! Like with Hudson and Alayna's story, Laurelin Paige started JC and Gwen in a way that's got me intrigued and already thinking. The plot was being laid out in each page... slowly... steadily... and this was why my mind was at it since I started Free Me.

Who is JC?
What is his story?
What is Gwen's story?
What is going on?

JC is a mysterious, sexy guy that Gwen met at work. It wasn't a pleasant meeting and JC got into Gwen's nerves. He immediately saw her being uptight and called her on it. Gwen didn't appreciate it and she kept denying even to herself that JC is getting her hot and bothered. She feels it but she doesn't want it. That denial didn't last especially since JC happened to be at the right place at the right time. Gwen was dealing with an unpleasant news from the past and needed an outlet to release the pain and anger and JC was there. *cue fireworks*

After that night, both of them made a non-commitment commitment to spend 1 day a week with each other. Things were going great until feelings started to come into play and that was a no-no in their agreement. They both struggled with their feelings, trying to deny it. This is when I got frustrated with Gwen. I'm all go girl-power and then she let JC sweet talk her which okay, I can't really blame her because he's all persistent and straightforward when he wants to. When he wants to. Okay. I can deal.

Whenever these two get together, flames are almost visible. I'll give them that. Laurelin Paige sure knows how to write seriously sexy scenes. And then, BAM! My heart plummets. Shocked. Sad. Heartbroken. I don't think I can say anymore without me blabbering and spoiling things.

I think because it started out with the whole mystery, I'm too eager to get to the answers but then halfway through the book I figured I might not get the answers. I think I can say I got a sneak peek of things though but it left me with more questions and now I'll have to patiently wait for Find Me to come out! I can see it being worth the wait especially after how things ended.
