I don't know how to start this review without giving anything away or without staring blankly at this page because I'm left awestruck with this new serial from Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine! The Fantasy (A Desperate Man #1) is so, so, so good and I am desperately itching for more!
Evan James is a good-looking, charming man and he knows it. He uses it to his advantage whether in business or in his personal life with the ladies. Evan is intelligent but he's hiding something. Evan is struggling with no job and a slowly dwindling account to fund his "playboy front". Lucky for him, a few nights after he slept with a girl he couldn't seem to shake off his thoughts and his lust-filled fantasy, he got a call for a job interview. Finally! Looks like things will turn around for him, right? The synopsis already mentioned his being a sex addict, yes, it's true. I read it and I felt it but I also felt he's more than being a sex addict. He has a deeper story hidden somehow. Am I right? I guess I'll have to wait until the next installment.
Reagan Spencer, sexy, beautiful, and the "Blondie" Evan can't stop thinking about even after he quench his addiction with other girls. Surprise, surprise though! Fate always has its way in steering us in the direction we should be taking. I liked her confidence, it's easy to picture her as someone who knows what she wants and how to get it. She speaks her mind and I imagine a Reagan that is tough and feminine at the same time. But... I got the feeling that she's also hiding something and that's one I can't even guess right now.
I loved the synopsis of this book. It piqued my curiosity and having read and enjoyed Ella Frank's other books, I've had high hopes for this one. Plus, she's collaborating with a new author, and being one to always try out new things (especially with books), reading a new author's work gets me excited. I was not wrong! Oh my golly this was a good, I'm-on-the-edge-of-my-seat, can't-guess-what's-going-to-happen story! The synopsis was intriguing but once you start to read, it's more than Evan being a sex addict and Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine did a wonderful job with laying out the premise of Evan and Reagan's story because now, I'm still trying to figure out what could be their history and how their secrets will unravel.

Recommended to: Everyone looking for a riveting story.
