I was happy in my small town. In my life as a single, thirty-two year old woman. I had a good job, wonderful friends, my independence.
I also hadn't got laid in three years. Hadn't been on a date in two. Had stopped counting calories and wearing makeup... a while ago.
Then Brett Jacobs waltzed in. Caressed my thigh, dug rough fingers into my hair, lowered his soft mouth to my skin, took sexual control of my mind and stirred it all around with what he packed in his pants. He flipped my quiet life upside down and crawled into a place in my heart I thought was dead.
The issue is his secret.
The issue is her.
The issue is that I don't even know she exists, and he thinks she's dead.
The issue is that shit is about to hit the fan and I can't hold on to him tight enough.

Genius! Alessandra Torre is a genius writer, storyteller and a brilliant author that always makes sure her characters and stories are thought-provoking and thrilling. This is my second book from her, first was Black Lies, and I am left awe-struck yet again by how she carefully weaved Brett and Riley's story.
Who knew that suffering from torturous heels will land you a charming, sexy, rich man? Riley Johnson sure didn't expect to meet one, especially being a 32-year old single woman who hasn't got laid for so long. Brett Jacobs was that man for her. The man who saved her crying feet and gave her comfy hotel slippers, the man who sparked the fire inside her and made her feel alive, excited, amidst her rather ordinary and routine life, the man who will change her life in ways she didn't expect.
And it's not just Riley who's going to have her life changed, Brett will start to think about his priorities too. Brett didn't expect to meet a woman who will make him feel that caring and loving someone is an amazing feeling, that he was not supposed to feel guilty for it, that all the things he's been doing for the past years actually led him to meeting the woman for him. Riley.
"Maybe. Maybe I do have feelings for you."
"Maybe," he repeated. "Maybe you love me?"
"Yes. Kinda."
"You can't kinda love someone."
"No?"
"No. I won't allow it."
From Brett and Riley's first meeting until their one night together and all throughout their 'courtship', I was smiling like I'm the one Brett was wooing with flowers, phone calls, travels, and vacations. I was smiling like I can really feel how much Brett cares for Riley, not just by showering her with material things, but with how he acts towards her and how he speaks to her. And I was smiling because even though Riley has some insecurities and constantly doubts Brett's intentions (at first) and she feels like she's not deserving of him, she didn't play hard to get but didn't act easy. I was smiling because she cares for Brett and loves him and those emotions, she wasn't afraid to show.
Then BAM! Surprise! Twist! And then suddenly everything makes sense. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't even question those details at first. All the travels, the exotic vacations, I thought it was just paradise, a romantic getaway. Well, it's that and something Brett has been doing for years and it's actually a good one.
"I feel like I've waited my whole life for you."
If you've read the Bend Anthology, this is a novella from it. Originally entitled Still, Alessandra, being the genius that she is, managed to turn a novella and blow it up into a full-length story. If you have not read Still, you do NOT have to read it to understand Tight. But well, since I've read Still and Alessandra announced that she will be writing an entire book for the characters, I've been waiting.
This is always the challenging part of reading an Alessandra Torre novel... writing a review. I want to gush and rave and jump up and down from all the emotions I went through in reading this book but I feel like if I do, I'll end typing spoilers. I don't want to do that. Spoiling this book will be just that. It will be spoiling the experience of reading Brett and Riley's story. So I'm just going to end this with -- if you enjoy romantic thrillers, with steamy and sweet moments, you will love this!
Stars: 5 stars
Recommended to: Thought-provoking romance readers. If you don't like fluffy stories, Tight is a great mix of good romance and thriller/mystery feel to it, too.
POV: Mostly Female POV (there are a couple of POVs from Brett).
Series: No. Standalone.
Extra Comment: Loved it! Oh, I said that already?
