"Do you believe in crazy at first sight?"
This.
This book right here made me hold on to my Kindle until the very end. Well, except when I begrudgingly ended up falling asleep but you get the point. Dirty by Kylie Scott is the shiznit! I've been flipping my way through my books waiting to feel that something to completely pull me out from my funk and bring my mojo back and when I read the first page of Chapter 1, I knew I found the one. Kylie Scott did magic to my reading slump and now I feel like I can take on the world again. Lydia and Vaughan made me laugh so damn hard I didn't want it to end.
"Screw men and their devil penises. I had a future to plan."
Lydia Green is one of the funniest, smartass heroines I've read. I may have done things differently in that almost-wedding scene but I also understand that her first instinct was to do what she did. It was too funny. I don't know, but I didn't really expect Dirty to be this fun and humorous, not that I'm complaining. I enjoyed every page of this book! Literally, not a dull moment was experienced while reading it.
"Surely it was all some silly mistake. No one with a mouth so talented and blessed could possibly have behaved like a thoughtless bastard."
Vaughan Hewson probably made me savor Dirty so much! He may have had his serious moods but he was mostly playful and a lot adorable. I believe I was smiling and laughing all throughout reading this and I couldn't have asked for more. Okay, I'm slightly kidding, I wanted more Vaughan and Lydia! Their easy stranger to friends to lovers relationship, their sassy and sexy banter, and their burning chemistry made one sweet and dirty story for everyone to enjoy. I know I did!
Both of them have plans to leave town. For Lydia, to start anew, and for Vaughan, to continue his dream to be a musician. What they didn't plan on was meeting each other... I loved how honest Lydia was when her plans changed and I wanted to shake Vaughan so hard! In the words of Lydia, love sucks! But it was a sweet moment when Vaughan finally, finally, finally admitted his feelings. It was too late in the book for me, hence the missing .5, however, it didn't take away the delight I've had while reading it.
I'm sure the Dive Bar novels are going to be another smashing series for Kylie Scott! It's been a few hours since I finished this book and I'm still smiling while typing this review.
