"You deserve to be treated like the princess you are, like a queen."
Thank you for that, Ms. Romig. I sure did feel like I was a queen, a special reader while flipping through the pages of your newest series.
Betrayal is the first book in Aleatha Romig's newest 5-part series, Infidelity and like her Consequences series, the story and characters are addicting. It's like reading a "mini-movie series". The author's talent in writing such mysterious and thrilling plots is absurdly stunning. Every page, every scene, every character, and every dialogue have something that will pique your interest and have you holding on to the edge of your seats for what will happen next. That's what Betrayal did to me. Had I not been down with a fever, I would have probably read this with popcorn and wine in my hand because holy hot damn, I was hypnotized and left stunned for the second part already!
It was not all easy to read Alexandria Collins' story, especially when she's dealing with her mother and step-father. I was only reading it, but I was frustrated as heck on how controlling they are. This also made everything that happened weeks earlier, easier to understand. She needed to enjoy herself, to not feel any pressure, to be carefree. Nox was the perfect distraction. I would love a distraction like him for myself if you ask me. I enjoyed how even at their first meeting, their chemistry was on fire and it didn't sizzle down, it just grew and grew until it exploded. What's even more a welcome surprise was that they didn't rush down to sex right away. Nuh-uh. They actually hung out and spent time together. But they have a rule -- 1 week. No past. No personal information. No questions.
What will happen when a sudden turn of events change their rule?
Aleatha Romig is taking us on an exciting reading experience with this series which personally, based on this first book, can equal or surpass the success of her Consequences series (and I absolutely got hooked on that one!). Betrayal is a great introduction to the rest of the series. I'm more than ready to find out what happens next!!
