REVIEW: Apartment 2B - K Webster

3.5 to 4 Patrick Swayze Stars
(I can't decide which rating to round it off to, so bear with me, please)

My paperback copy of this book was gifted by the author because she's awesome like that. I started reading this book after our New Year's Eve celebration, I sort of went into this blind. I didn't read reviews, I didn't even skim through Goodreads for any thing. I just read the back cover and that was it.

So, wow was I surprised about what I read myself. Because I have no idea what to expect, Apartment 2B was a good surprise and I don't think I can write a review without spoiling anything. I want all of you who's reading this review to experience the emotions I felt reading what I've read. The cruel abuse Sidney endured from her own mother, the trauma that it left her, and her journey to being a "new" woman. I loved the concept of the story, the mystery, the passion between the characters. Everything was engrossing. I even cried at some parts because of how utterly heartbreaking each of the characters' story are. Oh, and the Epilogue? Tissues. You'll need it.

However, and this was where I struggled with my rating, there was a point in the story where I felt I wanted more out of the characters and their relationships. I enjoyed the writing, the story, the plot, it's just that somewhere before the end of the story, I was looking for something... more. Maybe a deeper foundation of their relationship. A slightly deeper development. A more involvement from secondary characters. Just something a bit... more. And that's why I'm undecided whether it was just "okay" and "I really liked it".  But, overall, yes -- I liked Apartment 2B.

Apartment 2B has a surprisingly good storyline that will keep you hooked and guessing where K Webster will lead you!

Stars: 3.5 to 4 Stars
Recommended to: Romance readers who enjoy twists. I also like to note that there's abuse and you might feel uncomfortable but it's just on the Prologue and relevant in understanding Sidney.
POV: First person. Dual POV (separated in parts).
Series: No. Standalone.
Extra Comment: I mentioned tissues, right?
