REVIEW: Hers - Dawn Robertson

Hers (Hers, #1)

4.5 Scorching Stars!

"Romance is for old housewives and desperate twats."

Holy sizzling erotica! What did I just read? I would like it to be known that I am not huge on threesomes and menage and F/F action but whew this book got me all hot and bothered!
What made me uncomfortable in other books, Dawn Robertson succeeded in getting me so hooked I’m left with wanting more. So, what Seven James mentioned in the quote above, Hers is full of not plain romancing but hot, heavy, and erotic scenes.

"I am at needs to fuck defcon level three thousand."

Seven James and Levi Parker are probably one of the most erotic and sweet (can you believe these two words are used in the same sentence?) couples in the Erotic Romance genre. These characters are individually lovable and admirable in their own strengths and weaknesses. Both of them had a painful past, that experience left Seven insecure but strong and Levi, although his experience is more recent that Seven, he became adventurous and open to more possibilities especially regarding the future.

“Seven, you don’t understand me. I don’t care what I get. I want you. I don’t want some front of who you are sometimes. I want the real Seven James.”

I may also have swooned a lot over Levi. He is so incredibly caring and hot and that package he’s carrying under his belt intrigued me as much as Seven. Who packs a perfect 10-inch?! As what Seven said, “Holy shit. Will that even fit?”. But on a more non-sexual note, Levi is an extraordinary guy. I love how open-minded he is, how takes care of Seven, how much he loves her, and how he always tell her this with words and action. He doesn’t judge Seven and he lets her realize things in her own time. That particular part with Star and the shower was a mind-opener for Seven and I can kiss her with how she (and Levi) dealt with it.

“Fuck me, Levi. Fuck me hard against this wall for all of fucking London to see.”

Seven is also not the typical heroine. She’s vulnerable but hides it under a strong brick wall she put up to protect her feelings and herself. She’s a successful business woman and a loyal friend. She’s smart and sarcastic and sexually open. Can I also just say, man, this girl is a screamer! All the sex scenes in this book that Dawn has written were supercharged explosive.

I am honestly quite at a loss for words on how much this book stunned me because I repeat, menage is not my cuppa but I’m always up for giving everything a chance as long as the synopsis interests me and Hers did that and I have no regrets.
